The Paul L. Mitchell Jazz Awards - Coming Spring 2008

The Paul L. Mitchell Jazz Awards is an annual event presented each Fall that celebrates the life and legacy of Paul L. Mitchell, and recognizes Georgia's best in the media, corporate supporters, selected jazz artists, and jazz educators.
This year, Dante Stephanson, owner of Dante's Down the Hatch, will be the event chairman.
Two categories of awards are presented at the Paul L. Mitchell Jazz Awards, the Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual who has over their lifetime been influential in all of the award criteria, and the Corporate Award which is presented to selected corporate organizations for ongoing support in all areas of the nomination criteria. The nomination criteria for this award are longevity of service to the Georgia and southern region jazz community, nurturing of young jazz artists and jazz students, creativity within the jazz genre, promotion of the genre through jazz education and performance, and continued activity in jazz education.  Keep checking back for updates on this event's date and location, or sign up for our mailing list.
